1 / 3 — Life at Chabad Chai Center

Our story

The community
behind the campaign.

In 2022, neighbors in Boca Raton were taking turns opening their homes for Shabbat.

Families came for prayer and stayed for Kiddush and conversation. Children were welcome.

That personal welcome is at the heart of Chabad Chai Center. With Chaya and Rabbi Arele Gopin, people find their way into Jewish life through a Torah discussion with friends, a shofar sounding by the lake, or an invitation to a holiday gathering. You can come without knowing the prayers or anyone in the room.

In November 2025, families helped complete the final letters of a Torah. Then the celebration moved into the streets, with music and dancing, men, women, and children celebrating together.

Children and families

For the children
growing up here.

At Pre-Shabbat Sing-Along, Shabbat begins with music, Kiddush, and challah. Through Mommy & Me and holiday activities, parents can share these traditions with their children in the company of other families.

As children get older, individual Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation gives them time to learn, ask questions, and prepare for a day their families will remember.

The new center will give this work dedicated space: an educational and youth wing, a youth lounge and play area, and a teen lounge. For parents making a life in Boca, it will be a place where their children can make Jewish friends and feel at home.

Learning, celebration, and Israel

A year of reasons
to come together.

Our calendar follows the Jewish year. Women’s workshops offer a chance to make floral arrangements for Shavuot or a seder plate for Pesach. Torah classes make time for study and discussion. Families gather for Purim, Shabbat, and the lighting of the Chanukah menorah.

In October 2025, 450+ people gathered at Woodfield Country Club to hear Sapir Cohen and Sasha Troufanov at our Israel Solidarity Evening.

Why we need to build

A growing community needs a permanent home.

Families new to Boca are looking for Jewish friends, shared traditions, and people to turn to. Our community is meeting that need in homes, clubhouses, and temporary venues. Our 2026 High Holiday services and children’s programming are scheduled at Omni Middle School.

The new center will give families a permanent home for prayer, learning, children’s activities, and celebrations, with room to grow our programs and welcome new neighbors. The community is already here. It is time to build its home.

Personal care

Having someone
to turn to.

Much of our work happens between the events on the calendar: learning Torah one-on-one, helping put up a mezuzah, guiding a family through a Bar Mitzvah, or offering support during shiva.

Someone who expected to be alone had a minyan with whom to say Kaddish.

We want every person who comes to Chabad Chai Center to know they can turn to us. Whatever your background or level of observance, you are welcome here.

Our new home on Clint Moore Road.

Just outside Woodfield Country Club, near Long Lake Estates, St. Andrews, and surrounding neighborhoods, our new center will be close to the families it serves. Many who live nearby will be able to walk to synagogue.

The campus will bring together sanctuaries, learning rooms, a teen lounge, children’s spaces, and places for community gatherings. A welcoming lobby will give people room to stop, talk, and stay a little longer.
